
Gerald Allan Ross, known to many as Jerry, passed away on June 22, 2026, at the age of 84 in Marana, Arizona. He was born in Ravenna, OH, on October 29, 1941. Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife of twenty-eight years, Mary Linda Ross, and his parents, Albert Ross and Evelyn May Chapman.
Jerry is survived by his two brothers, Donald Ross and David Ross; his four sons, Douglas Ross, Darren Ross, Jason Ross, and Timothy Ross; and his daughter, Christine Majeres. He is also survived by five step-sons: James Lipari, Michael Lipari, Anthony Lipari, Bernardo Lipari, and Jonathan Wyatt. Together, Jerry and Mary shared twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A 1959 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, Jerry earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Youngstown University in 1965. He was a veteran of the United States Army, where he specialized in artillery and was deployed to South Korea. Following his active duty, he served in the Army Reserves and earned his instrument rating pilot’s license. His professional career was spent in the steel industry as a metallurgical engineer and in sales.
Jerry’s hobbies included road trips with his family, garage and yard projects, flying airplanes, camping, and boating. He was also a fan of baseball and football and loved watching movies with happy endings.
Jerry’s final resting place will be at Pike’s Peak National Cemetery in Colorado Springs. The family will share the service schedule soon and deeply appreciates everyone’s thoughts and prayers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Jerry’s favorite charity, the Wounded Warrior Project.
