March 11, 2007 – February 25, 2026
With profound heartbreak, we announce the passing of our beloved son, Gideon Anderson.
Gideon grew up in Marana, where he attended Marana High School and became deeply connected to his community. From a young age, he participated in Boy Scouts and later took swimming classes through the Town of Marana, later joining the team at the Marana Aquatic and Recreation Center (MARC) as a lifeguard in June 2025. Before that, he worked as an Animal Care Technician at the Ironwood Pig Sanctuary, where his compassion and work ethic made a lasting impression.
Gideon also gave his time generously to his church and school, volunteering wherever he was needed, including helping run a scholastic book fair. Service came naturally to him.
You didn’t have to know Gideon long to feel the spark of his fun, charismatic, and unmistakably strong personality. He had a sharp wit, an honest voice, and a perfectly timed sarcastic remark ready to lighten any moment. He was often the first to say what everyone else was thinking—always with a laugh, always with sincerity—and he never hesitated to stand up for what he believed was right. His presence filled a room, and his absence leaves an immeasurable void.
Gideon loved the outdoors and found joy in hunting, fishing, and gaming. These were more than hobbies—they were moments where he felt most himself, surrounded by the people and experiences he cherished.
Gideon is preceded in death by his loving family members Uncle Josh, Papa Barry, Grandma Virginia, Tita Amada, great grandma Thelma, great grandpas Charles and Larry, aunts and uncles who now welcome him with open arms.
He will be forever remembered, deeply loved, and always part of our hearts and souls.
