Jon Preston Laird

Jon Preston, born July 15, 1950, passed away peacefully at age 75 on May 20, 2026, surrounded by family.

Jon is survived by his loving wife, Mary; his children, Piper, Sean (Cara), Amanda, and Renee (Cory); and his beloved grandchildren, Kaitlin, Camden, Mikaela, Ian, Everett, Ari, Amelia, Avery, and Jackson. He is also survived by his sisters, Kathy (Jody), Susan, and Robin (Tim); his brother, Patrick (Kathy); and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Rhea and Richard Laird.

Jon entered the Army at 17, served in Vietnam, was wounded in combat, and received a Purple Heart. In 2016, he received a kidney transplant from a wonderful woman whose gift gave him ten more years of life.

Jon loved spending time with his family, whether fishing on the lake or trying his luck at the casino. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Jon will be laid to rest with military honors on July 27, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 15950 N Luckett Rd, Marana, Arizona, 85653.
