

after a short illness. Alex was born April 27, 1929 in Sioux City, Iowa to Edna and
James Innes. He married Phyllis Jean Wade on March 27, 1951.
He is preceded in death by his wife Phyllis, and daughter, Janet Joanne Innes.
Alex is survived by daughter Diane Innes and husband Jim Gorin of Whittier, CA, and children Wade and Livia; daughter Karen Montes, husband Irie, son Aaron Montes and wife Emily, and children, Mathew, Maisy, Aidan, and Nathan of Nacogdoches, daughter Susan Miles, husband Brandon, and son Benjamin of Tyler; daughter Alexis Adams and husband Craig of Dallas, and children, Hannah, Alex, and Connor; sister, Josephine Joanne King of Long Beach, CA and nephew Todd King and family of Laguna Niguel, CA
Alex graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Geology. He worked for Cities Service Oil Company, and the family lived in Lovington, New Mexico; Midland, Texas (twice); Bogota, Columbia; Amarillo, Texas; and Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Alex retired in 1985.
Alex and Phyllis had many friends and kept in contact with them through the years.
After retiring, Phyllis and Alex traveled extensively for two years throughout the United States and then built a beautiful cabin in the Sangre de Cristo Mountain
Range in Southern Colorado, where they spent their summers. In 1991, Horseshoe
Bay, Texas became their primary home until they moved to Round Rock, Texas in
April, 2011.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 4, 2012, at the Eileen
Hurd Mausoleum at Horseshoe Bay, officiated by Johnny White of the Church at
Horseshoe Bay. Alex’s ashes will be entombed at the Mausoleum next to Phyllis, and
his daughter Janet.
