I was in the navy, in the azore islands. He was called "moose" then. He was bigger and stronger than anybody else, and a really good athlete.
Moose was my roommate for probably a year before he got out of the navy. I took leave and he came to my parents house in Ohio for about a week. I never saw him again. He was a good friend and we never stayed in touch.
That's terrible and i regret it.

I feel his loss greatly. We were stationed together at Lages Field in the Azores in the
USN IN 1961-62. The race for Space Supremacy was on, and Our Naval Air Facility
serviced Early Warning Aircraft to prevent any attempt to knock our space craft out of the air. We were working together on the flight line. We had been without sleep for over 24 hours and he saved my life by keeping me from walking into a prop. If it weren't for him I would have been killed.
Rest in peace dear friend!

Leon was in my life since 1960. I married one of his best friends Tommy L Jackson from Andrews. After Tommy and I divorced in 1969, Leon always manages to share his life with both Tommy and myself. We stood up with Carol and Leon when they married. Tremendous kind memories and friendship share with Leon. Good man, Friend, Father and husband. Love to you Leon and rest peace.

Nancy Jackson Hall

J B & I are remembering the fun times we had with Leon as we were growing up in Andrews, TX. He was a fun guy with a sweet soul that was an asset in our class of 1958. We pray that God will comfort his loved ones as they celebrate Leon's life.

Rest in peace my friend. Leon always made me feel happy. I loved his friendship . He was a very humble and honorable. I pray for peace and comfort to his family.
