Archie was born on October 7th, 1948 in Austin Texas, and went to be with the Lord on February 19th, 2020. He lived his life on the ranch between Spicewood and Cypress Mill, Texas. He was a rancher, public servant servicing the Burnet County area through the Spicewood Volunteer Fire Department, and held many different positions over his storied career with the Burnet County Sheriff’s Office. He was preceded in death by his parents Henry “Coke” and Helen Hollingsworth, brother Larry Hollingsworth, step mother Peggy Hollingsworth, and wife Barbara Hollingsworth.
First and foremost, he was a faithful follower of Christ, giving his time, heart, and talents serving in multiple roles at Spicewood Baptist Church, and Bee Caves Baptist Church. He loved leading worship, or in his words, “leading the singing”.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Becky and Shelby Sultemeier of Cypress Mill, Texas, and son and daughter-in-law Rusty and Tracy Hollingsworth of Goldthwaite, Texas.
Archie had 4 grand children. Carlie Hollingsworth of College Station, Darren Sultemeier of Stephenville, Braydon Hollingsworth of San Angelo, and Brett Sultemeier of Cypress Mill.
He is also survived by a multitude of family and friends that he cherished. Karen Naumann and Marilyn Lackey Hollingsworth brought much joy to his life after the passing of Barbara Hollingsworth, the mother of his children.
Visitation will be held at the Clements Wilcox Funeral Home in Marble Falls from 6-8pm on Sunday, February, 23rd. Services will be held at First Baptist in Burnet on Monday, February, 24th at 10am. Burial will follow at the Fall Creek Cemetery in the Spicewood area.
Archie will be remembered by his giving heart, and his willingness to help the less fortunate. He would give the shirt off of his back to help a neighbor in need. He will also be remembered by cordial greeting “Howdy Neighbor”.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that you find your own unique way to help someone in need in memory of Archie.
