Ben is survived by his wife, Beverly Jean Deal, his sister, Siri Speegle, and a niece and nephew.
Raised in the Texas Hill Country, Ben was active in high school track and chess tournaments. He received his degrees in Business and later in Engineering, from The University of Texas at Austin. Ben and Beverly were married in 1986.
Ben was a Vietnam War Veteran who enlisted in the Army. He worked as an engineer for Austin companies for over 40 years and retired to Marble Falls with Beverly in 2018.
In Marble Falls, Ben volunteered his time to several community groups, including the Church, the VFW and his HOA. He enjoyed helping others.
Ben was an avid chess player in his life and in retirement. He relished a good challenge.
Ben thrived in working in his yard and garden filled with colorful flowers. He enjoyed backpacking and camping in his younger years. Ben frequently walked and hiked throughout his life with his wife. Together they practiced yoga regularly in retirement.
Ben was known for his goodness and kindness. He was a quiet man with a gentlemanly manner. He respected all others and showed it in his actions.
Ben will be warm-heartedly missed by all who met and knew him. He will be wholeheartedly missed by those who loved him.
In faith and hope, we shall be together again in life everlasting.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 2:00 at the First United Methodist Church of Marble Falls.
