Bertha Laferne Lyda

Fern received her LVN license in the early 1980’s and became a gentle, caring nurse working for many years in hospitals and nursing homes in Burnet, Marble Falls and Austin.

Fern married Eldon Lyda later in life and they were happily married until his death. She had a loving supportive spouse in Eldon and she achieved her life long goal of becoming a nurse.

Fern was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She is survived by her son Nolan Davis and wife Karen, and daughter Joy and husband Frank. She has four sisters: Darlene Dalton of Huntsville, Texas, Wanda Wilkins of Huntsville, Texas, Jean Houghton of North Richland Hills, Texas, and Barbra Lafferty of Bastrop, Texas. .

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her daughter Bobby Klaus.

Fern was a member of the Baptist Church in Marble Falls for many years. She will be missed by all who knew her.
