Betty, a longtime Spicewood resident, retired after 35 years from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and continued to work throughout most of her life. She absolutely loved her family, friends and life fiercely. She never met a stranger and would not hesitate to help anyone in need.
Some of her other passions included rodeos, trail riding many miles on her favorite ride, The Salt Grass Trail Ride for the last 60 years, investing in bucking bulls for the PBR, country music, fishing, hunting and even cleaning her own deer, cooking from scratch, canning, being the family historian, casino trips and finding the best turquoise to wear proudly.
She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Robert Reece, daughter Deana Hebert, son James L. Hebert and wife Whitney and bonus children. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Caytlynn, Kristen, Brendon, Keaton, Paige and Brandt and numerous bonus grandchildren, her great grandbaby, Maddox Glimp and bonus great grandchildren.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents Homer D. Hollingsworth and Clara Parks Hollingsworth and her younger brother Dewight D. Hollingsworth “Bubba”.
Our mom was the last of the real cowgirls. The strongest woman I know and there will never be another one like her. She is greatly cherished and will be missed every single day.
Bring your boots and join in on her farewell ride.
