Billy Ray Connally, 86, passed away Saturday, April 5th, 2014. Bill was born September 7, 1927 to Orie Ulna and Willie (Anderson) Connally in Haskell, Texas, the older of 2 children. He graduated from Haskell High School in 1945.
Bill served short time in the U.S. Navy in WWII. Honorable discharge Seaman Second Class 1946.
He met his beautiful bride of 55 years, Joanna Honea Connally, and they married in 1946 in Haskell, Texas.
Bill began a long career as an electrician, travelling across Texas and New Mexico. He was an electrical contractor in Levelland, Texas for more than 25 years until his retirement in the 1988. Bill loved to spend time with his family. He loved being a cowboy, riding horses, bowling and watching base ball. When they were younger, he and Joanna loved dancing.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife Joanna, a daughter; Sarah Williams, parents and Sister Betty Lou Martin.
Bill is survived by his 2 sons, Jack Connally and William “Pody” Connally, 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Shane Connally, Freddy Aguirre, TJ Cox, Matt Dunham, Ben William, Jeff Honea, and Adam Honea. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Martin and Ray Martin.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2014 at First Christian Church,107 N Avenue F, Haskell, TX at 1:00 pm with Randy Abernathy officiating. Burial will follow at Willow Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Marble Falls.
