

He died unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Horseshoe Bay, TX, of which he had served as pastor since January.
He was 69 years old.
Fr. Brad had been a member of the Paulist community for 30 years and a priest for 25 years.

Bradford Charles Schoeberle was born June 14, 1956, in Janesville, WI, the oldest of the seven children of Henry Schoeberle and Carol Bahr Schoeberle.
He studied with the Diocese of Madison, WI, and earned a bachelor of arts in theology from St. Francis de Sales College Seminary. He later earned a master of arts degree in religious studies from Edgewood College and a master of arts in pastoral studies from Washington Theological Union in Washington, D.C.
After working as a parish director of religious education, he entered the Paulist novitiate on August 28, 1995.
He made his First Promise on August 18, 1996; made his Final Promise on August 28, 1999; and was a deacon on October 17, 1999.
He was ordained a priest on May 27, 2000, with classmates Fr. Dave Dwyer, C.S.P., and Fr. Ricky Manalo, C.S.P.
In the early years of his ministry, he served at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Community in Los Angeles, first as a deacon and then as associate pastor and administrator.
In 2007, Fr. Brad became founding pastor of St. Luke University Parish in Allendale, MI, where he led the construction of the parish’s church building.
From 2018 to 2024, he served as pastor of Old St. Mary’s Church in Chicago.
In January, he began his assignment at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Horseshoe Bay, TX. In recent weeks, he had been managing the parish’s building expansion project.
Fr. Brad also was a seasoned pilgrim of the Camino de Santiago in Spain.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Peter and Matt Schoeberle.
In addition to his brother Paulists, he is survived by his sisters, Pam Hinz, Jeanne Butcher, and Marisa Schoeberle; his brother, Gary Schoeberle; his nieces and nephews; and all of his parishioners and friends.
Viewing for Fr. Brad will be held Thursday, October 30, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM at St Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 201 Dalton Cir, Horseshoe Bay, TX, and the Rosary will be said at 4:30 PM followed by the Vigil at 5:30. Fr. Brad's Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025 at 10:00 AM at the church.
