Caroline Evagene (Simmons) Thorp was born on July 25, 1949 in Austin, Texas to Chester and Elner Simmons and passed away on June 24, 2021 in Spicewood, Texas at the age of 71.

Evagene graduated High School in May 1967 from William B. Travis High School. She was blessed with a daughter in February 1968. In February 1970, she married her best friend and soulmate Pascal B. Thorp Jr. Their second blessing, Pascal B. Thorp, III, also arrived in 1970 but sadly only survived three short days.

Pascal and Evagene made their home in Phoenix, Arizona where Pascal was stationed at Luke Air Force Base, during which time Evagene worked on base.

Upon his retirement, they moved back to Austin, Texas to be surrounded by family. Evagene had various administration positions over the years in the hospitality and service industry. Among them were G & M Catering, Hollingsworth Corner and Capital Construction.

As a resident of Lakeside Beach since 1984, she served this community in many capacities including being a member of the board. She was one of the neighbors you could count on for help.

She was preceded in death by her parents Chester and Elner Simmons and son, Pascal B. Thorp, III.

She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years Pascal B. Thorp Jr., Her brothers, Charles and wife Linda, Rickeydale and wife Theresa, daughter Lisa (Thorp) Spreen and husband Todd, and her grandchildren Heather and Travis Kelly, great grandchildren Landon, Haydon, Kaydon and Braydon and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews and friends.

She will be missed by her family and associates and this is a void that will never be filled but what we have to console us are our memories and the love she leaves behind.

Following the Graveside Service there will be a time for a meal and to visit with the family beginning at 12:00 pm at the Lakeside Beach Civic Community Center, 802 Wanta Hideway, Spicwood, Texas. Please feel free to bring your favorite dish and fond memories to share with family and friends.

I have very fond memories of spending summer days with my aunt and uncle at their home on the lake. I also got to spend many Thursday and Friday nights working concessions stands with aunt Evagene and uncle Pascal. I even got to work breakfast and lunch catering shifts with her mother. Those are some of the best times and memories I have of growing up. Always supportive and kind. I will certainly miss her.
