Born July 15, 1938 in Memphis, Tennessee to C.C. and Mary Carter, she passed away on November 1, 2016.
Carolyn dearly loved her sons, her grandchildren, The Plungettes, Meadowlakes, earmuffs, round numbers, Kitty, and her many friends.
Carolyn is preceded in death by husbands Gerald Dunaway (m. 1959-81) and Thomas Stone (m. 1983-2013); and parents C.C. and Mary Carter.
She is survived by brother John Thomas Carter (Dianne); son Craig Dunaway (Geri) and grandsons Jack and Carter; and son Dave Dunaway (Kat) and grandchildren Julian, Britton, Cameron and Joanne; and nieces and nephews Brantley, Catherine, Connie and Burl.
A service and brief reception will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church at 10 a.m., Nov. 4. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you support CASA, Phoenix Center, Trinity Episcopal Church, or the charity of your choice.
