

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Claudine Warren Hauss, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, who left this world peacefully surrounded by her family on March 30, 2025. Born on November 27, 1948, in Spicewood, Texas, Claudine was the beloved daughter of Arthur Alfred "Buddy" and Minnie Jane (Wall) Warren and a proud member of a large family.
Claudine attended school in Marble Falls, Texas, and was baptized in her local creek. In 1965, she married David Earle Hauss, a remarkable journey that spanned six decades. They lived in Lawton, Oklahoma; Austin, Texas; and Albuquerque, New Mexico, before settling in Spicewood, where they built their family home—filled with loving memories for 45 years.
Claudine was deeply dedicated to her family. She is survived by her loving husband, David, son Joseph David Hauss, Sr., and daughter Laura Lee Owen (husband Michael). She was proud of her grandsons Joseph "Bud" Hauss, Jr., (wife Izzy) and Brandon Owen, as well as her granddaughter Samantha Ross (husband Joseph). Claudine found joy in her four beautiful great-grandchildren: Landon, Finley, Reese, and Lily.
She is also survived by two sisters Mary Ulbricht and Jane Lusk (husband Jim), brother Dicky Warren (wife Dee), as well as two beloved sisters-in-law, Jackie Follis and Carol Earle (husband Art). Claudine is also survived by her best friend Carolyn Peterka. Her family includes 12 nieces and nephews, and their families.
Claudine is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Thomas Warren.
Claudine was a woman of great strength, intelligence, and independence. Her perseverance through adversity served as an inspiration. She was known for her cooking, welcoming friends and family into her home for meals. Claudine kept in touch through letters and phone calls, ensuring those she cared about felt cherished and remembered.
Claudine was a lifelong member of the Spicewood Church of Christ, where her faith and community were deeply intertwined. Claudine loved reading, playing games with family, ancestry research, and crocheting. She worked as a secretary at the Brown Schools in Austin, Texas, and for 17 years delivered the Spicewood mail for the U.S. Postal Service.
A funeral honoring Claudine’s life will be held Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Spicewood Church of Christ, with viewing at 9:00 AM.and services at 10:00 AM, Burial will follow at Rockvale Cemetery in Spicewood. Services provided through Clements-Wilcox and Marble Falls Flower.
