

He enjoyed recalling his Cajun heritage and had a great love of the outdoors and the Texas hill country. Craig had many interests, including camping, boating, windsurfing, scuba diving and waterskiing. He also enjoyed snow skiing, Derby cars and horseback riding. He loved his family and always looked forward to the annual reunions.
Craig was a Union Brother of Sprinkler Pipe Fitters 669 and a 10 year member of Terry’s Texas Rangers 8th Calvary Division Co. F.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Karen Ortego, daughter Kendra Nelson & husband Jordan, mother Betty Harwell & husband Randy, brothers Charles Ortego & wife Loretta and Dwain Ortego & wife Barbara and sisters Karen Vidrine & husband Clarence, Libby Guillory and Genie Kruszynsky & husband Mitch. He is also survived by multiple sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Van, brother Bennie and nephew Justin.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 13, 2012 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Thursday, June 14, 2012 at 10:00am at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Fall Creek Cemetery. The family will receive guests at the Spicewood Community Center following interment.
