Debra was born in Farmington, West Virginia on April 8, 1948 to Richard E. and Virginia Besedich Davis. She was the oldest of four sisters: Donita, Sally, Dree & Cathy.
On October 6, 1967, she married the man of her dreams, Guy Wayne Tuttle. They were wed by Debra's father, Bro. Richard E. Davis in Midland, Texas at Trinity Baptist Church.
Debra & Wayne lived in Midland for a short time before moving to Terrell, Texas. On January 23, 1969, they had their first child, a son, Guy Hollis Tuttle III. A few months later, they moved to Kaufman, Texas. On May 31, 1971, they had their second child, a daughter, Taunya K. Tuttle. Then on April 29, 1973, they had their third child, a daughter, DeeAn Tuttle. In 1978, they went to Marble Falls on vacation. Debra & Wayne fell in love with the hill country & decided to move to Marble Falls. They've been here ever since.
Debra was first & foremost a devout Christian. She read her Bible every day. Debra always tried to volunteer for any church function she was able to help with. Committees, vacation bible school, etc. She loved the Lord & witnessed to just about everyone she ever met. Debra had a heart of gold & loved everyone, especially children. She was the director of the First Baptist Church Daycare for several years & loved every minute of it. She treated each child as if they were her own. In 1991, Deb & Wayne lost their daughter Taunya to a drunk driver. Shortly after this tragedy, another young boy of the community lost his life in an alcohol related accident. Debra & Wayne decided to open the "Dedication Generation" youth center. This was a unique place for youth to gather & have fun in an alcohol-free environment. Debra & Wayne became known as "Mom & Dad Tuttle." They touched the lives of many children & left a lasting impression of Christian love within their hearts. Debra had a unique way of making everyone feel welcome & feel special. Her big, beautiful smile would light up the room & she always offered a hug to anyone who would take it. Debra had a great, and sometimes ornery, sense of humor. She loved to laugh & make others laugh. Debra simply loved life, and everything about it.
