I am one of Ron Balsam’s daughters. As my brother, James Balsam, mentioned in his message, I had the honor of knowing Mr. Reed from his Sunday morning visits with my dad. I enjoyed his stories, his interactions with my father, and truly appreciated his kindness. Boy did he love my biscuits & gravy! He was a gem and I feel blessed to have known him. To his family and friends, I am sorry for your loss. He is now another angel to watch over you all.

Don was a great friend to me and my family ever since he joined St. John's. We served together on the building and finance committee and many retreats at St. John's. He became friends with my dad, Ron Balsam from attending daily mass followed by trips to McDonald's for coffee after mass. For the last 2 years he was bringing Holy Communion to my dad Ron Balsam at an assisted living in Burnet every Sunday. What an act of selfless love. It became a tradition that Don would stay for a big Sunday breakfast cooked by one of my visiting siblings. They looked forward to Don's visit. Don had a big loving heart and loved everyone he met. He was genuine and lived a life devoted to sharing Gods love. I know he is celebrating with Helen now. We miss him. Jim and Debbie Balsam
