With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Donn Andrew Cherne, fondly known as Andy, a beloved husband, father, and friend, who left us on June 2, 2024, at the age of 71. Andy's departure has left a void in the lives of all who knew and loved him.
Born on August 8, 1952, Andy's journey from humble beginnings to a successful career as a geophysicist was marked by his relentless dedication and hard work. His professional achievements were many, and he proudly retired in his late 40’s, a testament to his perseverance and commitment.
Andy was predeceased by his wife, Patricia Cherne, with whom he shared 22 years in a loving marriage.
Andy was a man of exceptional kindness and generosity. He had an uncanny ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer support. His sense of humor was infectious, bringing joy and laughter to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Andy deeply loved the outdoors, whether hiking, biking, sailing, fishing or simply enjoying a ride on his motorcycle. He found peace and happiness in nature and cherished every moment spent in the great outdoors. Many admired his culinary skills and craftsmanship, as was his unwavering dedication to any task he undertook.
Andy had a tender spot for all animals, showing a compassionate heart and always advocating for their well-being. His love for animals was evident in the pets that loved him.
Andy is survived by his loving wife, Emalee Cherne, with whom he shared five wonderful years of marriage; his stepchildren, and numerous friends and family members who will forever cherish his memory.
Despite battling cancer with remarkable strength and courage, Andy's spirit never wavered. His resilience and determination remain an inspiration to all who knew him.

Donn Andrew Cherne may no longer be with us in body, but his legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
