She was born in Plainview, Texas in 1920 and married Wilford Monroe Smith in Harlingen, Texas in 1938.
Wilford preceded her in death in 1980.
In 2002, Effie moved to Spicewood. She was a loving, supportive wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by one sister, Louise Pletcher (Roy) of Bloomington, Texas, her three children, Thelma Lou Rudd (John) of Spicewood, Monty (Sue) of Cottonwood Falls, Kansas, and Kenneth Dean Smith of Johnson City, Texas, formally Riverside California, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews who love her dearly.
A graveside service will be held at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas, at 1:00 pm on Monday, August 5, 2013.
