Elizabeth Ann (Roberts) Cuddie, of Marble Falls, TX passed away peacefully on October 5, 2026. She was born in Detroit, MI to Clyde E and Doris R Roberts (Heminger) on April 19, 1939. Known to her family and friends as ‘Betsy’, she was married for 61 amazing years to Robert (Russ). Betsy was beautiful, kind, generous, artistic, and a wonderful human being that had a mischievous sense of humor that loved so many things. To name a few, spending summers at the lake in U.P. Michigan, sewing, drawing, doodling, crossword puzzles, reading an actual newspaper, baking, spending time outside in the sun, the moon, planting flowers, and time with family.
Betsy spent her 87 years as a daughter, sister, aunt, and housewife but don’t let the title fool you. She kept all the kids in line with a hidden talent for reading lips so they couldn’t get away with much while planning all manner of things they shouldn’t do. She supported the neighbor kids that needed a place to go, a chauffeur to sports or orchestra concerts and a wonderful cook that enjoyed sitting down time at the table with family.
Betsy graduated from Berkley High School in Berkley MI in 1957 and attended two years of art school. She also learned drafting and worked for Cuddie Gillett Associates Incorporated where she met Russ and married after just three months, sometimes you just know. Betsy and Russ led an adventurous and quiet life beginning in Michigan then on to Maine, Virginia, Indiana, South Dakota, New Hampshire, a short two-month stint in Pennsylvania, back to New Hampshire and then finally landing in Texas for the last 37 years. All these places held special meaning for different reasons for Betsy, who loved to see what the ‘world’ had to offer.
Betsy was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Doris Roberts; her sister, Phoebe J. O’Keeffe; her brother, James Stephen Roberts; and her beloved pet, Bailey. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert R. Cuddie; her sons, Timothy C. Cuddie and Robert J. Cuddie and his wife, Janene Cuddie; her daughter, Phoebe J. Cuddie; her nieces and nephews; and the family pets, Lindy and Doc.
A private service was held for the immediate family on October 7, 2026, in Marble Falls, TX.
