Elmer Hans Carlsen

Elmer served in the Unites States Navy from January 1943 – February 1946. He worked in the oil field as a supervisor for Sam G Harrison Oil Company from December 1950 until he retired in December 2001.

He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Dottie, daughters Chari Ricks & husband Ray of New Caney, TX and Dettie MacCracken of Rio Linda, California, sister Ellen Dahleen of Marble Falls, TX, brother-in-law Bob Casey of Cleburne, TX and step-son Allen Davis & wife Kim of Luling, TX. Elmer is also survived by his grandchildren: Erica Dewey & husband Stephen, Christopher Ricks, Jennifer MacCracken and Guy MacCracken & wife Nickey and his great grandchildren: Zachary Ricks Kiser, Abigail Dewey and Emma Dewey. He also has an extended family of 5 step-grandchildren, 7 step great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, son Keith Carlsen, wife of 54 ½ years Frances Carlsen, sisters Dagmar Keonig & brother-in-law Joe Koenig, Esther Cockrell, LaVerne Casey, Norma Harms & brother-in-law Carl Harms and brothers-in-law Dude Cockrell and Bill Dahleen.

Visitation will be at 10:30 AM Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Marble Falls, TX. Funeral service will follow at 11:30 AM with Allen Davis officiating. Interment will be at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Christopher Ricks, Guy MacCracken, Zachary Ricks-Kiser, Bill Fisher, Billy Dahleen, Ervin Cockrell and Stephen Dewey.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Elmer’s name to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at www.jdrf.org.
