

Frances Marie Shook was born in Corinth, Mississippi on August 7, 1921 to Nina Grace Webb and Marcus Arthur Shook. She grew up in the small town of Corinth in northern Mississippi and later attended the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg.
Frances met and married Cameron Elliott Graham while working in Marshall, Texas.
Cameron and Frances moved to Houston, Texas and raised three children; Cameron Elliott Graham, Jr., William Marcus Graham, and Candace Grace Graham. After Cameron Sr.’s death, Frances later married Alexander F. Imlay.
Frances is survived by her daughter, Candace Graham Garrison and grandchildren; James Barrett Garrison, lll (Mary Jo), Ann Marie Garrison (Marco), Margaret Cameron Docherty (Logan), Erin Heather Graham, and six great-grandchildren; Holten, Gage, Stoney, James, Charlotte, and Sawyer.
Friends extolling her long and extraordinary life described Frances as “a formidable force in this life”, “a force of nature”, “a grand dame”, and “a spitfire”.
Frances Marie Shook was a true southern woman, “a combination of beauty and strength...delicate and ornamental on the outside...inside...strong and fiery.”
Frances Marie was truly “whiskey in a teacup”.
