

Francis Eugene Sitterle, 89, of Granite Shoals, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on June 19, 2024, after a long battle with dementia. He was born on January 26, 1935, in San Antonio, Texas, to Elliott and Mary Sitterle.
Francis graduated from Central Catholic High School in San Antonio in 1954. He dedicated 33 years of service to the Army National Guard, showcasing his commitment to his country. His professional life was marked by creativity and craftsmanship, spending 25 years as an engraver and 10 years as a skilled cabinet maker.
Known for his honesty, kindness, and thoughtfulness, Francis was a quiet yet caring individual who always lent a helping hand to those in need. His hardworking nature was evident in both his professional and personal life. Francis had a passion for woodworking, which he pursued as a hobby, creating beautiful pieces that will be treasured by his family for years to come. He found great joy in traveling and camping with his beloved wife, Hester, making countless memories together on their adventures.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Elliott and Mary Sitterle; his sister, Barbara Couhig; son, Michael Eugene Sitterle; stepson, Glen Edwin Brinkley Jr.; granddaughter, Morgan Renee Brinkley; and son-in-law, Guadalupe Zavala Jr.
Francis is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Hester Lee Sitterle; sister, Mary Agnus and John Sawyer; Teressa Morgan; brother-in-law, John Couhig; son, Kevin Lee Sitterle-Zavala; Brian K. Brinkley; grandchildren, Jennifer Nichole Sitterle, Jaclynn Michelle and Camron Collier, Justin Michael Sitterle, and Sophia Brinkley; great-grandchildren, Alexander Flores and Caleb Flores; and great-great-grandchild, Isabella Flores.
Francis will be remembered for his dedication to his country, his skilled craftsmanship, his love for his family, and his gentle, caring nature. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the memories he created with his loved ones.
Funeral service will be held on June 26, 2024 at 3pm at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 1805 Hwy 281 North, Marble Falls, Texas.
He will be laid to rest on June 27, 2024 at 10:45am at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas. For those attending the graveside service, please arrive by 10:30 am at Shelter 5.
