Jackie Darlene Vick

Born to Ernest Gerald Dickinson and Addie Mae Dickinson in Stacy, Texas, Jackie grew up alongside four brothers and one sister, with whom she shared a close and loving bond throughout her life. The values of faith, perseverance, and family that shaped her early years became the hallmarks of a life devoted to serving others.

Jackie married the love of her life, Jack Lee Vick, in Killeen, Texas, following his military service. Together they shared 60 wonderful years of marriage, building a home filled with faith, laughter, and unconditional love. As Jack faithfully pastored churches throughout Texas, Jackie was his constant partner in ministry. She lovingly raised their three children, taught school, welcomed countless church members and friends into their home, and became known for preparing delicious meals that nourished both body and soul. Her table always had room for one more, and every guest left feeling like family.

After living in several Texas communities, Jackie and Jack eventually settled in Round Rock, and later Georgetown, where they created a home they dearly loved.

Jackie possessed a remarkable artistic gift. She spent her life painting beautiful works of art and, even in her later years, found joy in painting cheerful river rocks to share with friends and loved ones. She believed beauty was meant to be shared, and her artwork reflected the warmth and kindness that defined her spirit.

She and Jack also shared a passion for exploring estate sales, garage sales, and antique shops, always searching for hidden treasures and unique finds. Jackie delighted in giving those treasures new life, proudly displaying them throughout her home and joyfully telling the stories behind each one. To her, every piece represented a cherished memory and another adventure shared with the man she loved.

Above all, Jackie treasured her family. She celebrated every milestone, encouraged every dream, and loved each generation with a quiet strength and unwavering devotion. Her gentle heart, generous spirit and steadfast faith touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Jackie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Jack Lee Vick; her father, Ernest Gerald Dickinson; her mother, Addie Mae Stewart Grossman; her stepfather, Richard "Dick" Grossman; and her brothers, Jerry Dickinson, Richard Grossman, and Charlie Grossman.

She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Schroeter and husband Steve; her sons, Jimmy Vick and wife Amy, and Jon Vick and wife Eva; her cherished grandchildren, Buck and Sienna Schroeter, Ashley Wright, Jenny Vick, and Chelsie Vick; numerous great-grandchildren; her siblings Johnny Dickinson and Barbara Weatherby; extended family; and many treasured friends whose lives were forever enriched by her love.

Jackie’s service will be held on Monday, July 27, at 11:00 a.m. at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 11463 State Highway 195, Killeen, Texas 76542.

Honorary Pallbearers are Johnny Dickinson, Elroy Jonas, Bill Hurst, Phillip Glass, James Glass, Jasper Glass and Lloyd Sykora.

Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we rejoice in the blessing of Jackie's long and beautiful life. Her unwavering faith, artistic spirit, generous heart, and boundless love for family will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in our hearts.
