I was a childhood friend of the Lamptons, have many fond memories of that old yellow house on Woodland Circle in Jackson, MS. Jim would come Be-Bopping around with that "BIG" smile always seemed to brighten everyone's day. He was always kind, caring, considerate, and always had a good word to say. Please accept our deepest sympathy and condolences to family, extended family and friends. R.I.P. Buddy . . . Andrew

I am amazed how time fly’s!
Jim and I met and he swept me off my feet! I wasn’t looking at this time cause I just wasn’t interested in a relationship then. He contacted me and kept persuading me he was the One!
I finally gave in when he said : Honey i Promise you I will take care if you for the rest of my life! I was like “WOW”
No one had ever said that to me and I was hooked, line and sinker!
He was special from the moment I met him but then again i had to make sure he was the one!
I had already been married and I just didn’t didn’t want to marry again unless the Lord was with us! But he made that clear “He was the one for me”
He wanted to get married as soon as we could cause he didn’t want anyone to steal me away from him!
I was like “WOW “
Needless to say we went walking in the mall one day and he convinced me to allow him to buy our wedding Ring’s!
I was like Jim those are way to much and I told the salesman that we needed to go and talk about this!
Well needless to say we went to the parking lot of the mall I told him JIM the ring Cost way to much! I was like Jim we. Can go to the pawnshop and buy one there so reasonable ! What made me think about this was he said “ Do you want to wear something that someone else has already Used? and could of came from a Divorce or etc... ouch I said okay well let’s pray about this and come in agreement about the price!
So we came
In agreement
Before our Lord if we go back and they give us Atleast $500 more off that would be a sign that God
Was in this!
So we go back inside and walked into the store. The salesman said well have you decided and Jim spoke up and said well we have! So we continued to talk and go
Over this and that and then I said is this the final offer for the rings? He said one moment and went to talk to the manager. So the sales man came back and said. Our manager has given y’all another offer below what they had already given. I was in shock!!! So Jim said we will take them!!!

I was saddened to hear of Jim's passing. Jim was in my high school graduating class. My work took me to Austin last year and I was able to visit him a couple of times while I was in the area. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to catch up with an old friend. My prayers and sympathies are with his family during this difficult time. I am sure he is on the tennis courts in Heaven. Rest in peace Jim.

From the first time I ever met Jim, I liked him! He was as gentle a soul as you would ever care to meet! Always ready with a smile and a hug! We will certainly miss him! The promise of God's Word is that we will see him again, next time, In Glory!
