James Lynn Turner, Jr., passed away May 13, 2019. He was born in Dallas, Texas, on June 30, 1940 to James Lynn Turner, Sr., and Evelyn Chambers Turner.

After moving to San Antonio, and graduating from Trinity University, James spent 16 years in the United States Army. His army career afforded him the opportunity to live in places such as Turkey and Vietnam.

After being discharged from the Army, James worked for defense companies Arbitron and S.A.I.C. which led him to Saudi Arabia.

After retiring in 1988, James bought property in the Philippines and built 2 resorts. He split his time between Granite Shoals and the Philippines. While in the Philippines, James helped change the lives of many of the residents of the islands and made life-long friends.

Golf, tennis and fishing were all important to James, but traveling brought the most joy to him.

James is survived by his mother, Evelyn Turner and his close friend, Herman Serrano.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 16, 2019, from 5 – 7 pm at Clements Wilcox Funeral Home, Marble Falls, Texas. Funeral service will be Friday, May 17, 2019 at First Baptist Church, Granite Shoals, where James was a faithful member. Burial will be at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park, Burnet, Texas.

Our memory of Lynn is with a pencil behind his ear, he was at every Trinity University basketball game as statistician and Man Friday for Coach Robinson in the early 1960's. Dependable and caring are two adjectives that come to mind about Lynn. We renewed friendship with him at our fiftieth reunion a few years ago and are aware of his generous support of Trinity...particularly of the Trinity Tiger Network, a first-rate media coverage of all Trinity sports events and Lynn's dream for years. We admire his fight against the big C, and we will miss him! Mary and Jim Potter
