Jake was born on June 3, 1973 in Austin, Texas. He lived a life that made little noise, but left a deep and lasting mark on those who knew him. For almost 20 years he was employed with Communication Service for the Deaf, Inc., a national non-profit organization that provides technology and services for the deaf. He worked as a translator and interpreter for the deaf and hard-of-hearing doing instant, word-for-word text of spoken language. He took quiet pride in a job well done and faithfully worked day after day.
Jake lived a quiet, steady, and unpretentious life. He was not a person who sought the spotlight or looked for praise. He preferred to be in the background. His siblings will always treasure how extremely quick-witted he was. With that dry delivery of his, he always made everyone laugh when he was around.
Jake is survived by his brother, Hank Lewis and wife Janet; his sisters Tracy Lewis and Julie Lewis; his niece Chloe Allen & husband, Justin; niece, Caitlin Hardaway & husband Matt; niece, Lemlem Lewis; nephews, Keenan Lewis and Abraham Lewis, as well as many great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Nelson Lewis and mother, Tommie Lewis.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Clements-Wilcox Funeral home in Marble Falls. A gathering to remember and celebrate Jake’s gentle spirit will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Christ in Marble Falls.
