

Joe Deane Doze, age 87, left this world on April 29, 2015 to be with his Maker. Joe was preceded in death: by his grandfather, Iowa Senator, J.E. Doze and his wife Elizabeth; his father, Lynne Doze and mother, Lily; the mother of his two children, Berta Doze. Joe is also survived by his wife, Ethelyn (Ethy) and sons: Larry and wife Angela and Danny and friend, Anne Dorsey. Joe is also survived by 4 grandchildren: Todd and wife Amy, Kelly and husband Antowine, Natasha and husband, Andy; and Tyler and his wife Ashley. Joe also survived by 6 great grandchildren: twins, Sam and Lillie, Wyatt, Jaxton, Bodie, and Scarlett.
Joe grew up in Humeston, Iowa where the Doze family owned and operated the Ford Dealership. Upon hearing of the attack on Pear Harbor, he enlisted into the Navy where he served on the Bunker Hill as a fireman. Joe was a life member of the Marble Falls VFW Post 10376, District 14. He served as Quartermaster on both levels. He also belonged to the American Legion where he served 70 consecutive years. He was also a Master Mason and served 37 years as a member of Shriners International in Sioux Falls, S.D, During that time he participated in El Raid Oriental band and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.
Joe's working career always involved with his love of vehicles. He was a truck salesman for International Trucks in Sioux City, Ia and Sioux Falls S.D. After moving to Marble Falls, TX he was employed by the Durham Bus Company, transporting Marble Falls and Lago Vista school children. He was promoted to driving instructor for new employees.
A memorial service was held at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Marble Falls on May 2, 2015.
