Erby Garrett 82, of Marble Falls, passed away April 9, at Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas.
He was the son of A. Grover Garrett and Janie Mae (Ferguson) Garrett. He was born in Fairland, Texas. He attended school at the one room school in Travis Peak through 8th grade and completed high school in Lampasas and married Mary Lou Singleton on June 6, 1952. Erby worked various jobs through his employed life in town to support his primary occupation of being a rancher. He was a man who loved the outdoors and frequently pursued hunting and fishing activities as often as possible. A very religious man, a lifelong diligent Bible student whose strong belief in God as evidenced by a lifetime of song leading and serving as an elder in the Church of Christ at Travis Peak.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou; children, Jim and Deborah Garrett, Cathy and Jeff Felps, and Joel Garrett, all of Marble Falls. He is also survived by five grandchildren; Crystal Emsoff and husband Scott, Wesley Garrett, Russell Garrett, Travis Felps and Trevor Felps; one great grandchild, Skylar Emsoff and his sister Ethel Singleton of Marble Falls.
Visitation will be Friday, April 13, 2012 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home from 6pm – 8pm. Funeral service will be Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Travis Peak Church of Christ with interment following at Singleton Family Cemetery.
