Joel Mayfield

Joel was an evangelistic preacher and minister of many churches over the years, one of the latest being Sherwood Assembly in Granite Shoals and enjoyed being a carpenter for many years. Joel enjoyed fishing, traveling, and listening and picking to music in his free time. Joel also enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and his puppy dogs “Taco” and “Paco”.

Joel is survived by his sons Randy and wife Sherrie Mayfield of Houston, TX; Buddy and wife Karen Mayfield of Granite Shoals, TX; and Anthony and wife Lori Mayfield of Hext, TX; daughters Renee and husband Gary Dean of Marble Falls, TX; LaNetta and husband Tom Chance of New Braunfels, TX; and sister Virginia Brey of Corpus Christi, TX. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by the children’s mother Velma Mayfield, his sisters Evelyn Nelson and Lillie Mae Cobb, his brothers Donald Mayfield, Paul Mayfield, Kenneth Mayfield, Robert Mayfield and Rufus Mayfield.

Visitation will be held Friday August 1, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Marble Falls.

Services will be held Saturday August 2, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Marble Falls with Richard Vandeventer officiating. Interment to follow at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park in Burnet.
