Jonathan Andrew Garcia born in Houston, TX, on Aug. 9, 1986, stepped from this life to eternity in heaven early in the morning on Feb. 9, 2018. His passing came after several months of battling leukemia with chemo therapy. Jonathan was the owner/operator of True-Tex Pest Management. His family wants to thank all those who have prayed for them and supported them through this most difficult time.
Jonathan is survived by his mother, Thelma Aidee Garcia of Granite Shoals and his wife, Heather Nicole (Walker) Garcia and five children; Trenton Walker, Julian Isaiah Garcia, Sophia Marie Garcia, Abigail and seven-month-old Jonathan Andrew, Jr. His children were the pride of his life. He is also survived by four uncles; Edmundo, Rogelio, Omar and Abiel Garcia and two aunts; Mireya Monsivais and husband Juan and Emma Ivonne Garcia. Other survivors include his Father-in-law, Emitt Walker and great grandparents, Ed & Queenie Walker as well as numerous nieces and nephews and a great host of friends.
Preceding Jonathan in death was Grandparents Rogelio Garcia Garza and Emma Castillo de Garcia. Jonathan married Heather Walker on May 20, 2016 and he said it was the best day of his life. Jonathan’s family and friendships meant everything to him and he was one that really worked at both. Alongside the day Jonathan, Jr. (J.J.) was born he told anyone who would listen that May 18, 2016, was the most important and satisfying day he ever had. That was the day he was united with God through profession of faith in Jesus as Lord and baptism by Pastor Bubba Stahl.
Jonathan spent the last six months struggling with his disease and complications and all through it he would tell anyone he met about his experience. He prayed with people in the elevator at the hospital as he was pulling his i.v. tree with him. He prayed with the nurses and even the custodial staff in the hospital. Jonathan was totally committed to serving God in everything he did. This world will miss him and grieve deeply, but heaven opened its doors and began a great celebration as Jonathan joined them.
A memorial celebration service will be held at First Baptist Church of Kingsland on Friday, Feb. 16 at 10 am. Family and friends are invited to come celebrate his life and worship the Lord. The church is located at 3435 Hwy. 1431 in Kingsland.
Because of Jonathan’s love of the Lord and His church, the family is asking you make contributions to your church or to Salt Block Ministry through First Baptist Church in Kingsland. You can send your contribution to P.O. Box 1137, Kingsland, TX 78639.
