Throughout his childhood, he lived in many different areas due to the fact that his father was in the military, but he always said his favorite place in the world was Death Valley, California. He went to school and did most of his growing up in Killeen, Texas where most of his family still lives. He ended up in Denver, Colorado where he met the love his life, Brenda, at the age of 19. They married in 1975 and remained in the deepest imaginable love until the end. He spent the last 17 years in the Marble Falls area.
He was preceded in death by both parents, his brother; Dwight, and sister; Donna. He leaves behind, to cherish his memory, his loving wife; Brenda, daughter and son-in-law; Lacritia and Dewayne Barton of Horseshoe Bay, son and daughter-in-law; Joey Dowell and Kori Limberg of Marble Falls, daughter and son-in-law; Jackie Dowell and Shawn Provencal of Marble Falls, daughter and son-in-law; Amber and Chad McKinnon of Marble Falls. He had eight grandchildren; Damaris Veloz, 16, Kiahna Barton, 12, Gavin Maxwell, 10, Nicholas Veloz, 10, Mason Barton, 10, Caden Maxwell, 8, Rayne Provencal, 8, and Emma Maxwell, 6. He also leaves behind brother and sister-in-law; David and Sue Jane Dowell, brother and sister-in-law; Jackie Burton and Mary Dowell, brother and sister-in-law; Dudley Charles and Sue Mae Dowell, brother and sister-in-law; Dale and Linda Dowell, sister and brother-in-law; Pat and Ken Powell, brother-in-law; Kevin Graves, and sister-in-law; Dorothy Dowell. He had too many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends to name. Every one of which will miss him dearly.
There are no words to explain how much he will be missed. He left a mark on every, single, solitary person that he met along the way. He could make you laugh even when you didn’t want to; and was more intelligent than most. When it came to hobbies, he had only one: to be with his family. That brought him more joy than anything in the world.
Daddy, we will all miss you every single day! You will never have to feel any pain again! May you rest in peace…
