The Purpose of Mom

With her four children, mom planted the seed of love, the knowledge of God our Father, and the hope of our salvation in Jesus Christ. With those seeds, more seeds have been planted. Generations will follow with the seeds she has cultivated. Mom acknowledged the love God had for her and in return, loved everyone. Thus serving her purpose on this earth.

An infectious smile and generous spirit, Kathleen Marie Brown, was known as Grammy to her ten grandchildren - Greg, Hannah, Emma, Megan, Sammie, Kyle, Gabriel, Mia, Allison and Teagen.

Kathleen was born July 24, 1947 in East St. Louis, Illinois and passed away on April 24, 2019 in Marble Falls, Texas. She was born to Colonel Victor Bess (Retired US Army) and Rose Bess and survived by her four children - Jennifer, Heather, Steven and Kevin.

Kathleen enjoyed playing cards with friends, attending Bible Studies, and reading. From the beginning of life, Kathleen was blessed to have lived in several countries such as France, Germany, and Saudi Arabia. She was blessed to experience traveling to famous landmarks like Notre Dame, Mount Sinai, the Black Forest, and Stonehenge.

Though Kathleen struggled with cancer for several years, her faith never wavered. Her hope in Jesus gave her peace knowing that she would soon be reunited with her parents, her sister, Cindy and her niece, Sarah.

I met Kathy soon after I met my husband Bill. Kathy and I immediately began a long-lasting friendship. She was a wonderful hostess and military wife. We enjoyed our visits with her as often as possible. She was a great shopping partner! She made me laugh. So happy we had opportunity to see her in February. Our love and prayers sent to her family.

The thing I will always remember about my Aunt is her cute infectious laugh and her dimply smile. I loved hearing her laugh and giggle! Love to my cousins - praying for comfort
