Larry Gene Hamlin

Larry Gene Hamlin was born July 3, 1940, in Yuba City, California to parents Edna Mae Hamlin and Emerson George Hamlin. He grew up in San Diego and graduated high school in 1958 and married Hazel Martindale Hamlin in September 1958. Their marriage produced three daughters, Lori, Dana (son in law Jody), and Jill. In addition, there are four granddaughters, nine great grandchildren; his brother Donald Hamlin and his sister Evelyn Lee.

For 21 years directly out of high school, Larry worked for the Woolworth Company. In 1979, while living in Beaumont, Larry and Hazel purchased Al Cook Nursery. They worked jointly in the business for 23 years, retiring in 2002. Larry and Hazel also purchased a 60 acre farm in Marble Falls where Larry became a farmer/rancher. In 2009, they built their lake home and moved to Beaver Island on Lake LBJ.

In 2015, Hazel passed away from ALS, and Larry passed away on September 13, 2021.

Visitation will be held on September 20, 2021, from 5 – 7 pm at the Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Marble Falls. The funeral service will be held on September 21, 2021, at 1:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church, 1101 Bluebonnet Dr. in Marble Falls. Burial will be at the Marble Falls City Cemetery immediately following the service.
