
Lester joined the US Navy when he was 17 years old and served his country during World War II. He was awarded a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He attended Arizona State and Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Missouri. He practiced chiropractory in Flagstaff, Arizona, Oznard, California and Applegate, California. He was a past member of the Lions Club in Flagstaff, Arizona and was a life member of Kingsland VFW.
Survivors include his wife Alice Thompson of Marble Falls, son Leonard Thompson of Show Low, Arizona, step-sons Lawrence Merry of Fillmore Falls, Oregon and Allan Merry of Kingsland, Texas, sisters Roberta Hall of Boise, Idaho, Glena Slover of Phoenix, Arizona, Nancy DeWitt of Snowflake, Arizona and Janet Langston of Snowflake, Arizona and grandsons Joseph Thompson, David Thompson, and Daniel Thompson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home of Marble Falls.
