Linda was born on January 26, 1947, to James Tavener (Tav) and Della Maxine Carter Bell in Ranger, Texas. Linda grew up in Odessa, Texas, graduating from Permian High School in 1965.
Linda began her career working for the IRS in the early 1970’s with most of her tenure working out of the Dallas office. She retired in 2002 after 31 years of service.
Linda had one son, Lance Wayne Underwood who preceded her in death in 2017. She is survived by three grandchildren, Amanda and husband Jacob Sanchez-Alonzo, Jake Underwood and Steven Underwood. Linda had two great grandchildren, Israel and Olive. She is also survived by her sister, Paula Bell and husband Keith Burns, nephews, Casey and wife Hannah and Kevin Burns, 5 great nieces and nephews as well as several cousins. Christi Mansen is the mother of her grandkids and one of Linda’s closest friends who was there to help Linda on numerous occasions. She had so many other good friends and neighbors whom she cared for deeply.
