God has called Margaret home, she passed away peacefully on July 29, 2026, a little less than three weeks after her 76th birthday. Margaret was born in Austin, Tx, on July 10, 1950, to Peter and Margaret Habermann, the fifth of seven children. Margaret's’ father was a first- generation immigrant from Germany. Her mother’s heritage was Cherokee Indian, mixed with German and Irish. She was born and raised in the (then) outskirts of west Austin. She went to Summitt Elementary School and later to McCallum High. She loved to ride horses along the little country roads and trails with friends from up the road. This is when she began her love for horses. There were times she would ride her horse up to school, and back. After graduation she went to Durham Business College. She hired on at an Austin insurance agency, then onto the Texas State Comptrollers Office where she retired after 30 yrs. During that time, she raised her beloved Palomino show horse ‘Spoke’. Margaret loved the color purple and her little dachshund ‘Diva’, and fun times with her many nieces, nephews, and friends. After retirement she moved to Marble Falls, Texas to live with her sister Patti Stark and her family. She became a member of First Baptist Church Marble Falls after a few years and despite health issues, became active in the E.S.L program, one of the many ministries of FBCMF. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Margaret Habermann; her sisters, Ronnie “Bird” Rogers, Betty Hays, and Kay Woodworth; she is survived by her sister Patti Stark; numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends who loved her dearly.
