Marie Lechow passed away Thursday July 9, 2020 with her beloved son and daughter in-law by her side. She was born July 12, 1943 in Austin, Texas to Gordon Fowler and Anita Krueger Fowler. On March 2, 1969 she married Gus Emmett Lechow and together they raised three boys, Lance, Larry, and Coy.

Marie was fiercely determined, but equally kind of spirit. Her generosity was boundless. Taught by her Grandmother on a treadle sewing machine, Marie became an artist with a needle and thread by the time she was in Jr. High School. In later years she created everything from formal wear to Halloween costumes for those she loved. She recognized that creating memories was more important that an actual event and she gracefully fashioned occasions that made for beautiful lasting memories for all her family. She demonstrated her love as a true Proverbs 31 woman, literally rising before dawn to sew or cook.

Her greatest joys in life were her granddaughters Kacey and Kalyn. Cooking and sewing camps at Meme’s were always a summer highlight for them, as well as sleepovers with no rules, holiday cookie baking and decorating, and picking berries at Sweet Berry Farms.

Marie is survived by her beloved son Coy and his wife Lisa and their daughters Kacey Dawn and Kalyn Marie, her brother Buddy Fowler and wife Karen, sister Jaynell Glass and husband Carroll as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews who will forever remember their ‘Tantarie’.

What a wonderful life Marie lived. Watching her memorial pictorial I especially liked her pictured in her white western suit (she was a avid rider) & in her Snow White costume (she was obviously a Disney fan). She looked for the fantasy, fun, & adventure! Now it’s time for Snow White to rest before going on to her next assignment sewing, cooking up fun, & exploring what ever God has for her to do.

I was so sad to hear about Marie. She and I shared so many conversations and laughs! If I ever had a question about anything Marble Falls related, she was the one I always went to for answers. I will miss her...
To her family and friends, may you find grace and peace in your memories and stories of Marie. ♥️

Oh how my heart is broken. Marie and I had a very special connection through our extended family. I am blessed and honored to have known her. We shared laughter and tears, prayed with and for one another and leaned on each other for encouragement and support.

Rest well, my dear friend. Until we meet again.

Much love,

Sheri Proske
