She was born as Martha Lynn Criswell to Delmar Criswell and Viola Bowman in Olney, TX on October 6, 1943.
Martha was a true Texas girl who loved her horses and spent much of her youth riding them around Olney.
Martha later attended both Texas Tech and North Texas State Universities. She spent her professional career as both a middle school and high school teacher. She enriched many lives and has many students who have kept in touch through the years.
