Mary Margaret Kirk

Margaret was born May 2, 1927 in St Louis Missouri to Ruby and John Ellerman. Ruby passed away when Margaret was 9 months old and she was raised by her Aunt Nora, Ruby’s older sister. Her childhood was spent on the family farm in Southeast Missouri.

Margaret lived her adult life in Hughes Springs, Texas with her husband, Robert Kirk. Together they raised four children. Margaret was a legal secretary for a local law firm for 25 years. Later in life at the beginning of retirement years Margaret and Robert moved to Marble Falls, TX. Robert passed away after only three years there but Margaret had a full life there for 25 years. She was active in her church, the Senior Activity Center and as a volunteer at the nursing home. When her health began to fail at age 91 she moved in with her youngest daughter, Kathy and husband Roy in Frankston, TX. She had a beautiful, safe and secure place to live overlooking the lake.

In addition to her parents and Aunt Nora, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kirk.

She is survived by son John Kirk and wife Janet, daughters Jane Parker and husband Gary, Judy Roundtree and husband Jim, and Kathy Howard and husband, Roy. Margaret had eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was known as Mom-o in the family and the grandchildren and great grandchildren loved visiting and spending time with her.

Margaret set the bar high when it came to being a Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend and neighbor. She will be greatly missed and forever remembered.

Visitation will be at Clements Wilcox Funeral Home in Marble Falls, Texas on Wednesday, September 2, from 10:00-11:00. Burial will be at Lakeland Hills Cemetery, Park Road 4, Burnet, Texas, following visitation at approximately 11:30.
