Mitzie Marie Pyle, a longtime resident of the Meadowlakes, Texas, community, went to be with the Lord this past Saturday, May 25th. She loved her neighborhood in the pecan orchard, near the lake, with butterflies and hummingbirds constantly flocking to her backyard.
Mitzie was born in Plainview, Texas on February 4, 1943, reared in the Texas panhandle, and spent her high school years in Amarillo, Texas. She applied her love of music in the First Baptist Church as the organist. After relocating to San Antonio, she entered the workforce and quickly advanced to senior administration at the Tobin Aerial Surveys, where she spent the majority of her professional career. She and her husband Frank Pyle moved to Meadowlakes upon retirement and spent their time with good friends, church, and family. Mitzie was gifted in designing and creating remarkable celebrations and decorations for church, social groups, and family.
Mitzie resiliently battled serious health issues the past few years, but was a testimony of the power of God sustaining her through the entire ordeal. Mitzie is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Vera Marie Bassett, her first husband, Wallace Nelson of San Antonio, Texas, her second husband, Frank Pyle of Meadowlakes, Texas, two sisters Carolyn Kay Malone, Plainview, Texas, and Gaynell Weaver, Austin, Texas. She is survived by three sisters, Jean S. Dreyer, Jersey Village, Texas, Sylvia Janice (Janet) Rylant, Plainview, Texas, Renee Stephens, Benton, Arkansas, and a brother R.L. Bassett of Georgetown, Texas, as well as numerous stepchildren, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cy-Fair Helping Hands Ministry.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 pm, on Saturday, June 22, in the First Methodist Church, 1101 Bluebonnet Dr., Marble Falls, Tx 78654.
