Neil Allen Beckmann, age 66, died January 10, 2022. He was was born to Faye (Brown) and Roy Allen Beckmann in Bellville, Texas on June 29, 1955. He was baptized at Nelsonville Brethren Church and began life with many Beckmann relatives in the nearby communities, including Bleiblerville. In third grade, he moved with his parents and younger twin sisters, to Snook, Texas and later graduated from Snook High School. He cherished many people in Snook and would occasionally return to cheer the Snook High basketball teams in recent years.
Neil inherited a love of ranching, rodeos, outdoors and never lost his interest in cattle or horses. As a teenager, he participated in rodeos by riding bulls. He worked for multiple ranches over his career, but lived mostly between Lago Vista and Marble Falls, Texas. He especially loved raising registered cattle and showing them at major livestock shows around Texas and beyond. He was happy to share his wealth of knowledge about cattle, animals, and the outdoors with others, especially his grandkids. Later in life, when most men take up calmer and safer hobbies, he began to raise bucking bulls and take them to various bull bucking events around Texas. His bulls had tough sounding names to go with attitudes, and he was usually the only one brave enough to enter the pen with them! Lately, he endured physical pain but without complaining and stayed hopeful about his future. He also shared a family trait of “never meeting a stranger,” and spent a lifetime honing the art of story telling with his many friends.
As a husband, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend, he will be missed tremendously.
Neil was proceeded in death by his parents, Roy Beckmann and Faye (Brown) Briggs.
