Nina Lee Baty was born January 20, 1927. She was 95 years old when she left this earth into the loving arms of Jesus on December 5, 2021. She was the oldest daughter of Henry and Hazel Clark of Gilliland, Texas. That was where she met her soulmate, L. B. They moved to San Angelo, Texas in 1950 where she resided until moving to Horseshoe Bay, Texas in 2012.
Nina was a stay at home Mom and provided a loving, Christian home for her family. She was an exceptional Christian, wife, and mother. She cared deeply for family and friends. She did not do so out of obligation but because of who she was. She was always the first to offer help. She ensured that every child that crossed her threshold was well fed and loved like family. She loved serving the Lord with all her heart and was a perfect role model and Christian example. Hallmark’s sales will surely fall as there is hardly a person who knows her who has not received at least one card from her. She welcomed new neighbors with a home baked item and the friendship began. She has left a sweet memory in the heart of every person that knew her.
She was a Sunday School teacher, Boy Scout and Girl Scout Leader, PTA President, a volunteer for the Angelo Community Auxiliary and Meals for the Elderly. She was happiest when she was helping others, contributing to children and serving the Lord. She was a charter member of Southland Baptist Church in San Angelo and active member of First Baptist Church in Marble Falls.
She was preceded in death by her husband, L.B., and has now been rejoined with him to continue their loving marriage of what would now be 76 years. She is survived by her son, Gary Baty and wife, Donna and daughter, Vonda Sanders and husband, Frank, all of Horseshoe Bay, Texas. She is known as “Grandma” by Tiffany Ashley Vahrenkamp and husband, Justin, of Fort Worth, Texas, Amber Bryant of Jenks, Oklahoma and Heather Ashley Nguyen and husband, Cuong, of Austin, Texas, Ashlee Redus and husband Charlie of Conroe, Texas, Amanda Salem of Austin, Texas, Robbie and Bobbi Sanders of Austin, Texas and Cissy Sanders of Austin, Texas. She has thirteen great grandchildren - Ashlyn, Bennett, Lucas, Neko, Madeleine, Hadley, Brix, Sydney, Halen, Brittney, Victoria, Chris and Jack. She has one living sister, Ramona Horne of Wichita Falls, Texas. She is now joined with her siblings that passed before her - Wayne, Shadie, Donald, Lewis and Waynell.
A family visitation will be held at Clements Wilcox Funeral Home in Marble Falls, Texas on December 7 from 4:00 to 6:00. A funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church in Marble Falls on Thursday, December 8 at 2:00. Graveside services will be 1:00 pm at Lawnhaven Gardens Cemetery in San Angelo, Texas on Friday, December 9.
