Pauline Tellier Estes

September 5, 1940October 3, 2021

Pauline Estes, devoted wife to Ronald Estes, loving mother to Laura Estes (and Joyce Lauck), Mary Estes, Ronald Estes Jr. (and Michelle Estes), Lisa Burney (and Neal Burney), and grandmother to Kaitlin Estes and Keith Estes, left her earthly existence on October 3rd, 2021, after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases. To the end, Pauline was the epitome of grace and love, and all who knew her were enriched in her presence.

Pauline Tellier was born on September 5th, 1940, in Middletown, CT. She spent her early years in Middletown, surrounded by her family (sisters Lucille, Sarah, and Jeanette and her parents, Delia, and Wilfred). The youngest of four girls, Pauline was known as ‘Babe’ by her family. She met her husband of almost sixty-years, Ronald Estes, while she was in Nursing School in Hartford, CT. Literally swept off her feet on the dance floor by the tall Texan, they started their married life in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, where Ron was stationed in the Navy.

Ron and Pauline lived a life of adventure and raised their children with similar spirit. They called many places home, including New Hampshire, South Carolina, Virginia, Colorado, and Texas. She was a devout servant in her faith and lived her life for her family and friends. She was incredibly proud of her children and the fact that all of them are successful professionals. Her grandchildren are both engaged to be married and they loved their “Memere” dearly.

Her forty-year career as a Registered Nurse kept her engaged in her work, particularly in the Operating Room as the circulating nurse. Pauline was put on this earth to serve, to help, and to heal. Always on her feet and on the move, she kept her ‘Energizer Bunny’ reputation intact, even into her retirement. Pauline’s passion for music gave her great joy. She was a dedicated voice in the choir at her church, wherever she was living. An accomplished pianist, she spread harmony and happiness tickling the ivories! She loved dancing as much as she loved singing, and we can already hear her heavenly dance-steps as we remember her infectious laughter.

Her family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Arden Courts Memory Care in Austin, Texas, and the Choir at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, in Horseshoe Bay, Texas, for raising their voices one last time in Pauline’s honor. We have peace knowing she’s ascended to be with loved ones and is reunited with all her memories. Pauline will be missed and loved, eternally, by all.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (http://Act.Alz.org/donate) or the AGE of Central Texas (https://ageofcentraltx.org/index.php/get-involved/donate/).

She was the bright spot in the room. Her smile went for miles. We had such good times with her and Ron. A special trip to the Wine country I will never for get. May she now rest in peace and watch over all of us. You will be so missed by everyone who knew you

I think I met Pauline and Ron soon after they moved to Buckner. Pauline was such a beautiful lady, always smiling and enjoying the music here. She was fun to be with in the exercise classes and put her all into everything that she did until she became so very ill. I miss her now when the music starts playing at our times of entertainment. She knew the songs and sang along and could almost rise from her chair clapping and keeping time with the music. I know God is welcoming her now and she no longer has any suffering to do. My thoughts and prayers go with the family at this time of sadness. Carolyn Powers
