He graduated from Lufkin High School, and went on to graduate from Texas A&M University. After graduating from Texas A&M, he went on to serve in the US Army for 28 years and retired as Lieutenant Colonel. He completed his Masters degree at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina while serving. He enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing and woodworking.
Raymond is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Willie Parker, brother Jesse, Parker, and wife, Weesa, brother, James, Parker, and wife, Kathy. He is also survived by his children, daughter, Laura Connie Tucker, son, Preston Parker, daughter, Jennie Wilson, and husband, Tom Wilson, grandchildren, Nicole Hevener Cropper and husband, Chris (Butters) Cropper, Parker Roe, Leon Tucker and wife, Brooke, and Michael Wilson, as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
