Raymond Lloyd Ploeger

Raymond L. Ploeger, born May 27, 1931 in San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home in Horseshoe Bay, Texas leaving behind a legacy of love, adventure, and dedication. A brilliant mind and a passionate soul, Raymond graduated from Texas A&M in 1954 with a degree as a Professional Engineer. He spent his career as a professional electrical engineer at Monsanto, being an integral part in the invention of Roundup and solving complex problems with precision and ingenuity. His love for discovery extended high into the skies, where he found true freedom flying his own Republic RC-3 Seabee plane as an avid pilot. Raymond’s heart was as vast as the skies he flew. He was also a pilot instructor for many years. He was a devoted husband who he was lucky enough to marry twice to the love of his life Claire. He became an honorary grandpa and didn't even see it coming lol. He was proceeded in death by his parents Rudolph and Selma Ploeger, his son David Ploeger and wife Claire O'Neal Ploeger.

He is survived by Carolyn Tart and husband Jerry, Angier, NC; Michelle Wheeler and husband John Ashley, Benson ,NC; Deborah McCommons and husband Ben, Garner, NC; Russell Tart, Dunn, NC. Raymond is also survived by extended family caregivers Shelby Oxford & Brittany Armendariz & Children, many nieces, nephews and friends.
