Robert Allen Lowry
October 26, 1934 – September 3, 2020
Bob was born in Richmond, TX to Eva Lois and Edgar “Pat” Lowry and spent his childhood in Palacios, TX. He was the oldest of six siblings and became the first in the family to attend college graduating from Texas A&M University in 1957 with a degree in accounting. After moving to Chicago to work for Arthur Anderson as an accountant, he met and married Eleanor Hughes and their first child, Kathy, was born the following year. Moving back to Texas, Bob had several jobs and children (Jennifer, Patrick and Kevin) over the next several years. In 1969, he went to work for Dow Chemical and moved the family to Lake Jackson, TX. After a successful career, he retired in 1994. Bob was very active in the local community including serving as the President of the Board of Brazosport College. He and Ellie retired to Horseshoe Bay, TX.
Bob loved hunting, woodworking, playing poker with his buddies and Texas A&M. His love of the university and the value he placed on education inspired countless relatives to attain a college degree. More than anything, Bob believed that family was the most important thing in his life. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his loving wife, Ellie, 3 children and grandchildren Lauren, Lesley, Hannah and Alex as well his siblings and numerous other relatives.

Dear Elenor & family,
I have tried your phone number many times & get a busy signal.
Bob & I graduated from Palacios high school in 1953. He & I were roommates at Texas A & M two years. We both were from Palacios and would drive my car home one weekend & his the next. We were good friends. He will be missed!
