They also loved and treasured time with their children and grandchildren, spread across the United States. They relocated to Horseshoe Bay part-time in 2004 and permanently in 2010.
Robert was born September 30, 1943, in Dearborn, Michigan, to Robert Valentine Rapp and Anna Kowal Rapp. He grew up in the Twin Cities of Minnesota, where he received his education. He began his career as an entry-level employee at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company. His first job was climbing telephone poles in such places as Fargo and Minot, North Dakota. He advanced throughout the ranks of the company. When he retired, he was Senior Vice President of Marketing and Strategy at Time Warner Communications. Bob lived a full life. He had a busy career and was an active father in his children’s lives.
After his retirement, he enjoyed spending time in his shop building all sorts of things. He was the go-to person when neighbors or grandkids needed anything mechanical. He had a creative, inquisitive mind and was always thinking. He loved technology, home automation, and 3d printing, and spent time building robots. He once got a call from a grandson asking for help with a physics project. He went to the garage, built the required component, and spent over a hundred dollars to have it overnight shipped to him for his class the next day.
Bob will be loved and missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and good friends.
