Robert was born March 1, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan, to parents Eugene John Salay and Margaret Weaver Salay.
He attended Northern Michigan University where he received his Masters Degree and was a film producer in the Detroit and Chicago areas.
Robert enjoyed golf, tennis, basketball and hiking. He also enjoyed traveling and skiing. He loved boating and sunsets.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Richard Salay. He is survived by his devoted wife, Judith Salay and his cousin Mike Salay and wife Beverly.
Robert was the life of any gathering with his personable and caring personality.
