

Sandra Jo (Monroe) McDaniel born to John and Virginia Monroe in Iraan, Texas May 16, 1942, passed away April 22, 2025. She grew up on the family ranch outside of Iraan and graduated from Iraan High School in 1960.
She was a devoted Christian, mother and G-Maw.
Sandra loved spending time with family and friends, reading books and the Bible, and completing crossword puzzles. She also had a vast collection of different Collectables. Watching movies and listening to music, especially Elvis Presley, were 2 of her other interests. Her favorite movie stars were Elizabeth Taylor and Betty Grable. She loved Texas Longhorn sports and especially Texas Longhorn football. Her all-time favorite athlete was her husband ”G-Paw” but also Doak Walker.
Sandra attended North Texas State University and worked as the secretary to the head librarian. She supported her husband as he pursued his PHD by working as the president’s secretary for Collins Radio, and Morrison Milling in Denton, Texas.
She served as a track and field official and worked several National Junior College Championships. She was an avid Mojo football fan on Fridays, Texas Longhorns fan on Saturdays and Dallas Cowboys fan on Sundays.
Sandra was preceded in death by her father, John Monroe, her mother, Virginia Monroe, her brother Gary Monroe, and her sister and brother in law, Barbara Belcher and Donnie Belcher
She is survived by her husband, Willard Vearl “Doc” McDaniel, her son, Darren McDaniel and wife Heather McDaniel and her grandchildren Marlee and Megan McDaniel, her daughter, Ashley Beviacqua and her grandchildren Sophia, Ava and Brice Beviacqua and her sister Carolyn and husband Rahe Slover.
A Memorial Service for Sandra will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 2:00 pm at the Highland Lakes Church of Christ, 2310 RM 1431, Kingsland, Texas. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 2:00 pm at the Restland Cemetery, 8949 US-190, Iraan, Texas.
